There are over 400 mountain gorillas in this Park thus it is a home to almost half of the World’s population of these Giant Apes. This Park is found within the south-western side of the country at the brim of the Great Rift Valley and there are 11 habituated gorilla families that can be tracked by tourists.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is composed of an ancient and wide area of verdant rainforest, which is one of the few wide expanses of Forest within the East African region. Beside this Park, mountain gorillas are also found within Mgahinga National Park, where only one gorilla family (Nyakagyezi family) can be tracked during gorilla safaris.
- Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, Kyambura Gorge, Kaniyo Pabidi, Budongo Forest.Amongst these destinations, Kibale is the most popular destination for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is endowed with over 500 chimpanzees (10% of Uganda’s Chimpanzee population) thus making it a perfect site for this unforgettable activity. The Park is a home to other primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys and L’Hoests monkeys among others hence making it a primate capital of the World.On top of the mentioned activities, don’t leave Uganda without touring the vibrant Kampala City, exploring the Ssese Islands and participating in sport fishing within Lake Victoria, Nile River and Murchison Falls National Park among others.
